Welcome to the Botting family website, thebottings.com
re-uniting the global family.

For a number of years several members of the Botting family in different parts of the world have been researching their Family History. Some books have been published the last of which (that we are aware of) was Pick, Plough, Hammer and Barrel: 400 years of the Botting Family 1597-1997, compiled and edited by Alan D Botting of Adelaide, Australia. This was published prior to a World Botting Family Reunion held in Adelaide the same year. Bottings from Australia and New Zealand, plus a representative from each of the following countries, South Africa, the United States, Canada and England, attended this event. (Two previous Reunions had been held in New Zealand in 1977 and 1987 attended by Australian and New Zealand family members.)

In preparation for the 1997 event and since that time efforts have been made to link up with others doing genealogical research into the Botting family throughout the world. The aim is to establish a common database of what is known already, and to work together to fill in the numerous gaps. This is a huge task and will require all the help we can get.

If you are a Botting descendent or have an interest in genealogical research and would like to know more about the family or help in any way, please explore the other pages on this website, and/or send your enquiry to the appropriate address in the Contacts section.

Thank you for your interest in our family.
